“ I consider Yoga a life long journey and continue to travel and study with teachers who fuel my knowledge and passion for yoga. I like to offer yoga immersed in nature, which helps my students to reconnect with source.”
Séverine is a yogini, dancer and adventurer who has been studying, teaching and living yoga for over 20 years now. She has always had an inquisitive spirit, seeking for greater depth in life. When she discovered Yoga it became an integral part of her everyday life. She believed she should be able to live her life the way she liked and not as society dictated to her.
She left her country soon after college, traveled abroad on her own and continued her search for a meaningful life by working on organics farms, building bamboo villages, participating in Sacred Shamanic Women Circles and being part of several «conscious minded community villages».
For the last ten years she has been living on the Pacific islands of Hawaii, Fiji and Tahiti. In the jungle of Maui In Hawaii, she gave home birth to her two sons, Yemaya and Malonga and has been raising and homeschooling them since on her own.
On Koro Island in Fiji, with her then 3 and 5 year old sons, they enjoyed and participated in «Village Life». Invited by a Fijian family, they learned their ancestral traditions, learning to live and survive in nature in a simple way.
Travelling the world she does not only see how much beauty there is out there, but also how much each journey teaches us. For the last three years Séverine has been teaching in Tahiti to adults and children and organized many retreats and workshops in nature. She has been practicing many styles of yoga with a diverse spectrum of teachers , but it wasn’t before she met the great yoga teacher, Rose Baudin, that she got inspired and decided to leave her home sweet home on the islands to follow her journey to India to deepen and enrich her yoga studies.
Severine’ s journey on the path of Yoga began in 1993 at the college in Paris. For over 20 years she studied many different lineages of Hatha Yoga including Bikram, Iyengar, Sivananda and Ashtanga. As a certified yoga teacher she has been involved in meditation since 2002, which has brought a holistic approach to her practice.
Educated by many master teachers, her commitment is to teach in a safe and supportive manner and inspire people to choose a life-affirmative attitude under any circumstance.
Severine bases her Yoga philosophy on Patanjali‘s Yoga Sutras,Bhagavad Gita and on the teachings of Krishnamacharya, Ramana Maharshi, Krishnamurti and Osho. In her classes, she offers practices of yoga, asanas, mindfulness, meditation, yogic philosophy as well as pranayama breathing and energy techniques.
Severine uses ancient philosophy teamed with current alignment principles and dashed with a bit of fun to bring you her own unique teaching style. Her warm and welcoming approach creates a safe place for you to explore yourself in all aspects of your being: body, mind and soul. You will not only progress in your yoga practice, taking skills and knowledge with you that you can bring to your mat time and again, but you will also take a higher awareness and acceptance of yourself that will resonate within all areas of your life.
Her greatest joy is in helping people connect to their authentic power and inner wisdom. She teaches a blend of Hatha, Iyengar and Ashtanga Flow and guides students through an earthy, deep, soulful and heart based yoga journey, supporting them in feeling the prana energy which pulses through all of life.
Séverine’s expert hands and warm heart make the yoga experience safe and meditative. She seeks a healthful balance in her life both on and off the mat, and is looking forward to helping you find the same.
